Is Automatic Right for You?
Automatic lessons remove the need to manage a clutch and gears, which for many learners frees up significant mental bandwidth — letting you concentrate entirely on road awareness, hazard perception and positioning. Many people find they progress more quickly as a result.
Automatic lessons are particularly well-suited to learners who have previously struggled with gear changes, those returning to driving after a long break, and anyone who simply wants a more straightforward path to their licence.
⚠️ Important: Licence restriction
If you pass your driving test in an automatic car, your licence will be restricted to automatic vehicles only. To drive a manual car, you would need to take a separate manual driving test. If you think you might ever want to drive a manual, speak to us — we can help you decide which is the right choice.
Learners with ADHD, Dyspraxia & Autism
We have considerable experience teaching learners with dyspraxia, ADHD and autism. Automatic lessons are often the most effective option for these learners, removing the additional cognitive load of gear management and allowing lessons to focus on building road skills methodically.
Our instructors are patient, consistent and happy to adapt their teaching approach to suit individual needs. If you'd like to discuss specific requirements before booking, please call the office and we'll make sure we match you with the most suitable instructor.
