Lessons are available Monday to Saturday during the day, evenings and weekends. There is no extra charge for evening or weekend lessons — the same hourly rate applies at all times.

💳 Block Booking Terms

Block booking hours are paid in advance and are non-refundable once lessons have begun. Unused hours can be transferred if you change instructor. Call us for full terms before booking.

🚗 Intensive Courses

Intensive course pricing is calculated individually based on an assessment lesson. We don't offer fixed-price packages — the number of hours you need depends entirely on your starting level.

🎓 Pass Plus & Motorway

Pass Plus and motorway tuition are priced per hour at the same rates as standard lessons. Call us to discuss how many hours you're likely to need for your specific requirements.

Everything You'd Expect, as Standard

All lessons — regardless of type or length — include use of a modern dual-controlled car, a fully qualified DVSA-approved ADI instructor, structured lesson planning and feedback, and pickup and drop-off at an agreed local point. There are no additional charges for fuel, vehicle use or lesson materials.

If you have any questions about pricing that aren't covered here, call the office on 01708 696100 and we'll give you a straight answer.

Pricing Questions

Are automatic lessons more expensive than manual?
Yes — automatic lessons are priced slightly higher than manual. Manual lessons start from £38/hr (PAYG) or £360 for 10 hours, while automatic lessons are £40/hr (PAYG) or £380 for 10 hours. The practical cost difference between the two is also affected by the total number of hours needed — some learners progress faster in an automatic, others take the same number of hours.
Do prices include the practical driving test fee?
No — driving lesson prices cover tuition only. The DVSA practical test fee (currently £62 for a weekday test, £75 for evenings and weekends) is paid directly to the DVSA when you book your test. Your instructor will advise you when you're ready to book.
Is there a charge for the first lesson?
Yes — all lessons including your first are charged at the standard rate. We don't offer free first lessons as these tend to be short, informal sessions that don't reflect a proper lesson experience. Your first lesson will be a full, structured session with a qualified instructor.
What happens to unused block booking hours if I pass?
Any unused prepaid hours can be used for Pass Plus, motorway tuition or refresher lessons after you've passed. They can also be transferred to another learner driver with your consent. Call the office to discuss your options.
Do you offer any discounts?
The block booking rate is our standard discount — £36/hr (manual) or £38/hr (automatic) versus £38/hr or £40/hr pay as you go. We occasionally run special offers for new learners. Check our special offers page or call us to ask what's currently available.
How do I pay?
Payment is made directly to your instructor. Most instructors accept cash and bank transfer. Confirm your instructor's preferred payment method when you book your first lesson.
